The award presentation which was done at an event tagged "Rootswatch National Award on Distinguished Local government chairmen and Nigerian Democratic Pillars, which was held in Abuja, saw the council chair being presented with an outstanding chairman award on his efforts towards infrastructural facilities in his local government.

After receiving the award, Oloyede, appreciated the organisers of the award, noting that it had always been his desire to transform his local government and create avenues where its full potential, both human and materials can be fully annexed. "While doing what we did, our motive was to liberate our people through the provision of infrastructures to ease their day to day business activities," he said.

In his words, "I want to appreciate the organisers of this award for recognizing our efforts towards changing the narratives and providing our people with the infrastructure they needed. While embarking on the projects we are being awarded on, our desire was and is still to lessen the stress of our people by creating for them accessible roads that would aid and promote their business activities. This award and the words of encouragement from our people will continue to spur us to do more. We promised our people the best and we shall endeavour to do just that, God willing".

The council chairman also appreciated the people of his local government and requested their continued support as the government continues in ameliorating their plights.
