LAHA MEMBER,HON OGUNDIPE PAYS TRIBUTE TO A FRIEND AND BROTHER, CAPTAIN PHILLIP 'WALE ADELANA (WALLON)

It is with a heavy heart and deep sorrow that I pay tribute to a cherished friend, a devoted patriot, and a remarkable soul, Captain Phillip 'Wale Adelana, fondly known as Wallon, who departed this world on Friday, 4th July 2025

Wallon was more than a friend to me; he was a brother. Our journey began in childhood and blossomed into a lifelong bond built on trust, shared values, and unshakable loyalty. His sudden passing is a profound loss, not just to me personally, but to his family, friends, our political community, and the entire Oshodi-Isolo Local Government.

A devout member of the Anglican Communion and a strong pillar in the All Saints Anglican Church, Wallon lived a life anchored in faith and service. He was smart, deeply intelligent, and possessed the rare gift of political foresight. Within the Afariogun Ward, and indeed beyond, he was known for his fairness, strategic brilliance, and calm diplomacy.

In 2015, when I contested for the All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket, Wallon stood by me with unwavering dedication. He played a central role in our campaign as Chairman of Strategic Planning, coordinating walks, mobilizing people, and infusing the campaign with his trademark energy and wisdom. Even when the outcome did not favor us, Wallon remained resolute, offering encouragement, strength, and hope.

As with any close relationship, we had our disagreements. At times, we found ourselves on different sides of political divides and caucuses. Yet, despite these differences, we never let politics sever our bond. We always find time to reconnect, laugh, and reflect as brothers do.

His contributions went beyond local politics. As Director of the Inter-Ethnic Directorate in the Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu Campaign Organisation, he distinguished himself in both the first and second term campaigns. He was not only a strategist but a bridge-builder, uniting communities and people for a common cause.

Wallon was a servant-leader in every sense, selfless, insightful, and ever ready to work for the greater good. His wisdom was a light to many, and his memory will forever remain a guiding force.

To the Adelana family, to the Boys and Girls of the Lagos State Council Boys Brigade, especially the 2nd Oshodi Company, to our great party, the APC, and to the entire congregation of All Saints Anglican Church, I offer my deepest condolences. We have lost a rare gem.

Though Wallon is no longer with us in body, his spirit, service, and brotherhood will remain with us always. May the Almighty forgive his shortcomings, comfort all who mourn him, and grant him eternal rest in His bosom.

Good night, my dear brother and friend. You will never be forgotten.
