As CDHR Re-elects Adeniran,Others At the 2025 Annual General Conference of the Committee for the Defence of Human Rights (CDHR), guest speaker Barrister Olasupo Ojo emphasized that it’s high time Nigeria transformed human rights from mere paper rights to actual rights. Barrister Ojo made this assertion while delivering a paper at the 2025 annual general conference of the CDHR Themed: ‘Human Rights As Our Everyday Essentials: Fundamental, Inviolable, Indiscriminate’. He noted that human rights should be enjoyed, exercised, and defended by people, using government instruments. Ojo acknowledged some progress, including the establishment of the National Human Rights Commission, but argued that more needs to be done to prevent human rights violations.
